Fairview Regional Aquatic Centre Guidelines for Re-opening:

  • Re-opening date: June 10, 2021
  • Pool MAXIMUM CAPACITY – 60 patrons
  • Group | Personal Simm Lessons will begin July 5, 2021
  • Registration OPENS for swim lessons June 14, 2021
  • Waterslide | Diving Board | Climbing Wall – OPEN
  • Hot Tub – OPEN maximum of 6 patrons at a time for same household for 5 minute increments
  • Spectator viewing area is OPEN (limit of 8 viewers)
  • Schedule is subject to change without notice, Due to staffing shortage we are currently not offering a noon swim or Aqua-size classes

COVID-19 Restriction Changes

Face masks are required on entry to facility, in changerooms, lobby and viewing area

Face masks DO NOT need to be worn on pool deck or in the water

Please follow physical distancing guidelines of 2 metres (between NON SAME households)

Lockers will be available for usage

Fairview Aquatic Centre OPEN

Status Update:

Effective Wednesday February 10th, 2021 the Fairview Regional Aquatic Centre will be permitting one-on-one training services with certified staff/trainers to resume in the facility within the parameters set out by Government of Alberta’s Path Forward: Phase 1

  • Coaches and trainers will always wear masks
  • School groups will be permitted in this phase for activities in alignment with their curriculum
  • Limited lessons availability based on instructor: participant ratios

While this update is still limited in its access, the facility remains committed to serviing the community in as many ways as possible within the existing health regulations and continues to prioritize the health and safety of its users. All bookings will be made through reception in advance of arrival, NO Drop In’s permitted

The Town of Fairview Community Services Department is currently seeking a responsible, hard working and enthusiastic individual with a passion for Aquatics and Recreation who can ensure the ongoing safety of our patrons and to provide professional instruction in a variety of aquatic activities at the Aquatic Centre. This full-time Lifeguard/Instructor position (40 hours/week) will include a combination of set and flexible hours; some shifts may include evenings and weekends.

The Fairview Regional Aquatic Centre is in the Town of Fairview located in Northern Alberta within the Heart of the Peace Country approximately 82km SW of Peace River and 115km North of Grande Prairie. Town amenities include 10 km of paved trails systems, Local Gun Range, Arena, Aquatic Centre, Gym Facility, Skateboard Park, Splash park, ball diamonds, parks and playgrounds, golf course, ski hill, curling, bowling and local campsite. The Fairview Regional Aquatic Centre boasts a water slide, zero depth, wading pool, 25 m 5 lane lap pool and a Tarzan swing.

Compensation:
The Town of Fairview offers a competitive salary and benefit program (following successful 3-month probation period) including LAPP Pension. Salaries range from 21.94 hr – 29.57 hr based on experience and qualifications (no union dues). We offer complimentary gym membership, health benefits, ongoing leadership and development opportunities and paid recertification and training. Re-location assistance available to suitable candidate.

Qualifications:
As a key player with our team you will have the following:
• National Lifeguard Certification
• WSI or ICS Teacher/Instructor Certification
• Standard First Aid (CPR-C)
• Evidence of Clear Vulnerable Sector Search (RCMP & CFSA)
• Pool Operator Level 1 and Level 2 (preferred)
• Familiarization with Recreation Software an asset (Activenet)
• Certified Aquafit/ Fitness Instructor (or willingness to obtain)
