Town of Fairview Municipal Elections

Municipal elections are held every four years, during which residents elect a Mayor and six Councillors to serve four-year terms.

Council members are elected at-large, meaning both the Mayor and Councillors represent the entire population of the Town of Fairview.

Election Day is Monday, October 20, 2025

Election Day Voting Station hours are 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Advance Voting Day is Monday October 6, 2025

Advance Voting Station hours are 11 a.m. until 7 p.m.

The Register of Candidates that have filed their Notice of Intent to run in the 2025 municipal election for the Town of Fairview. NOMINATION OFFICALLY CLOSED

At the close of Nomination Day at 12 noon on September 22, 2025, the number of candidates nominated for Chief Elected Official - Mayor is the same as the number required to be elected, therefore the Returning Officer shall declare the candidate to be acclaimed to the officer for which there were nominated.

Candidate Registration Information

Qualifications

To be eligible as a municipal candidate, you must meet requirements of the Local Authorities Election Act (LAEA) s.21(1) and s.22, including that on nomination day candidates are:

  • At least 18 years of age on the day of the election
  • A Canadian Citizen
  • A resident in the Town of Fairview for at least six (6) months before Nomination day
  • are not otherwise ineligible or disqualified
