The Town of Fairview is accepting applications for a full time Arena Attendant in the Community Services Department. Reporting to the Arena Foreman, our Attendants are responsible for:  

  • helping clean & maintain the facility
  • providing manual labour duties related to maintaining ice and equipment
  • providing exceptional customer service
  • handling/ taking inquiries from different user groups
  • assisting with crowd control
  • providing information to patrons on facility protocols
  • In the summer months this position is assigned to Park’s detail which includes lawncare, special projects, community events and general maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

  • Current class 5 Drivers License
  • 2 years previous labour experience preferably in an Arena setting
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures and environmental conditions
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships
  • Strong attention to detail, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Level 1 Arena Operator certification preference or willing to obtain
  • Possessing a self-starting attitude and the ability to work well independently with little supervision

Salary will be negotiable based on qualifications and experience ($23.17-31.22/hr). A comprehensive local government benefit package is provided after completion of a probationary period. Compensation is based on a 40-hour work week. This position requires rotational weekend, day, and evening shifts.

The Town of Fairview invites applications for the position of Executive Assistant & Legislative Coordinator to join the Administration Department.  Under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Executive Assistant & Legislative Coordinator is responsible to provide administrative support to the CAO & Council along with general legislative services to the organization.  The ideal candidate has experience working in a politically sensitive environment and is conscientious and professional in the delivery of services.  This is a fulltime permanent position (35 hours/week) with some required evenings to cover meetings. 

Qualifications:

  • Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • An ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
  • Required to have advanced experience with MS Office.
  • Education and experience in business and computer processing.
  • Education and experience in municipal administration and writing of bylaws, agreements and policies.
  • Experience in dealing in an environment with sensitive and confidential matters.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Act as the recording secretary for council and council committee meetings
  • Prepare and distribute agendas for council and council committee meetings
  • Maintains the bylaw registry along with overseeing the records management system
  • Returning officer for municipal elections
  • FOIP Coordinator
  • Provides Bylaw Officer administration support
  • Provides Development Officer administration support
  • Organize and scheduling of council and CAO activities.   

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual that believes in team building and working collaboratively to achieve our community’s sustainability goals.  We are offering a salary range of $54,220 – $64,944 along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Recreation Centre Receptionist

The Town of Fairview is looking for interested individuals to fill the role of Fairview Recreation Centre Reception position. This position is a part-time / casual permanent position working out of the Fairview Recreation Centre encompassing a variety of administrative and coordination duties and is an integral part of the department’s organization.
