Lifeguard - Instructor

Fairview Regional Aquatic Centre

The Town of Fairview Community Services Department is currently seeking mature individuals who possess enthusiasm and experience to ensure the ongoing safety of our patrons and to provide professional instruction in a variety of aquatic activities at the Fairview Regional Aquatic Centre.

Minimum qualifications for this position include: National Lifeguard Award and Standard First Aid (a copy of all current awards must accompany applications). The successful candidate must be available to work varying morning, mid-day, evening and weekend shifts as well as attend one mandatory in-service per month. Minimum age requirement is 16, however 18+ is an asset.

Training will be provided. Costs will be reimbursed upon successful Fairview Aquatic Centre course completions.

Qualifications

- Minimum 2 years Aquatic Supervisory experience

- Current National Lifeguard Certification

- Pool Operators Level 2

- Current Standard First Aid

- Current Swim instructor award (I Can Swim BC)

- Preference for LSI, First Aid Instructor and National Lifeguard Instructor Awards

- Experience with budgeting

- Excellent administration and public relation skills

- Knowledge in program development and promotion

- Proficient in Activenet Recreation Software

- Preference for I Can Swim Master Evaluator

Salary will be negotiable based upon qualifications and experience. A comprehensive local government benefit package is provided. The interested individual will need to be able to work evenings and weekends.
